Tree work in Ramsgate
Established suburban blocks.
- Trees planted 40 to 60 years ago that are now far too big for where they stand: over the roof, against the house, lifting the driveway.
- Roots in sewer and stormwater pipes.
- Overhanging branches and neighbour disputes over leaves, gumnuts and shade.
Trees we often see in established suburban blocks: Lemon-scented gum, Camphor laurel, Cocos palm, Jacaranda.
Council rules

Check your rates notice. Ramsgate straddles a council boundary: parts are in Georges River Council. Georges River rules →

Questions
Tree work in Ramsgate: questions.
Do I need council approval to remove a tree in Ramsgate?
Often. Ramsgate is in the Bayside Council area, where a permit is usually needed for taller than 3 m, or trunk wider than 300 mm. Exempt species and some pruning don't need one. Our Bayside guide walks through it with a checker.
Does the 10/50 bushfire rule apply in Ramsgate?
None of Ramsgate is mapped as bush fire prone land. 10/50 entitlement areas use a different map, so this is only a guide: the 10/50 clearing rule probably won't apply. The RFS tool, not the suburb, decides. See the 10/50 rule explained.
Do you work in Ramsgate?
Yes. We're a Sutherland Shire business working right across Sydney, including Ramsgate and nearby Ramsgate Beach, Beverley Park and Monterey.
How much does tree removal cost in Ramsgate?
It depends on the tree's size, access, what's underneath and whether you want the stump ground. A tree over the roof or against the house usually comes down in sections, so it's priced on time and care rather than size alone. Quotes are free and no-obligation. See what affects the cost.
