Tree work in Croydon
Established suburban blocks.
- Roots in sewer and stormwater pipes.
- Overhanging branches and neighbour disputes over leaves, gumnuts and shade.
- Trees planted 40 to 60 years ago that are now far too big for where they stand: over the roof, against the house, lifting the driveway.
Trees we often see in established suburban blocks: Liquidambar, Spotted gum, Lemon-scented gum, Camphor laurel.

Questions
Tree work in Croydon: questions.
Do I need council approval to remove a tree in Croydon?
Often. Croydon is in the Burwood Council area, where a permit is usually needed for 4 m or taller, trunk 150 mm at 1.4 m, or crown 2 m or more. Exempt species and some pruning don't need one. Our Burwood guide walks through it with a checker.
Does the 10/50 bushfire rule apply in Croydon?
None of Croydon is mapped as bush fire prone land. 10/50 entitlement areas use a different map, so this is only a guide: the 10/50 clearing rule probably won't apply. The RFS tool, not the suburb, decides. See the 10/50 rule explained.
Is Croydon in a heritage conservation area?
Parts are. Croydon includes Malvern Hill, Badminton Road To Culdees Road, Wallace & Brady Streets and Cintra Estate heritage conservation areas. Trees in a conservation area usually need more than a standard permit, often a development application.
Do you work in Croydon?
Yes. We're a Sutherland Shire business working right across Sydney, including Croydon and nearby Burwood, Ashfield and Burwood Heights.
How much does tree removal cost in Croydon?
It depends on the tree's size, access, what's underneath and whether you want the stump ground. A tree over the roof or against the house usually comes down in sections, so it's priced on time and care rather than size alone. Quotes are free and no-obligation. See what affects the cost.
